Project Context
What is Ecotime?
Ecotime is a time and attendance software that helps businesses track employee work hours and improve productivity. It can also help with payroll reporting and compliance.
Problem Overview
Inefficient time logging – Students struggled to quickly and easily log their work hours.
Difficult to track past entries – The system lacked intuitive ways to review and manage previous timesheets.
Cumbersome and outdated workflow – Ecotime’s process was long, tedious, and required excessive steps for simple tasks.
No mobile accessibility – 72% of users wished for a mobile version to make time tracking more convenient and accessible.
Our Solution
Mobile App for Ecotime – A streamlined, user-friendly mobile app that allows student employees to quickly and efficiently log their work hours, track past entries, and simplify the timekeeping process on the go.

Reflection
This project was a significant learning experience for me, as it was my first time working on a team where roles were clearly divided between different functions. I collaborated with a product designer and a product manager, which gave me experience in working within a cross-functional team. This structure taught me how to effectively communicate across different disciplines, align on goals, and ensure that design, strategy, and execution were all working in sync.
Although I wasn’t on the design team for this project, I loved the opportunity to branch out and explore a new role as a product marketer. This was my first time stepping into this position, and I had to quickly learn and apply skills in market research, competitor analysis, and using user data to develop strategic solutions. Understanding the target market, user pain points, and industry landscape became essential in shaping our approach.
Giving Thanks!
I’d like to give a special shoutout to my design and management fellows, Naomi and Billie! We put in countless hours on this project, and I couldn’t have done it without them.
A huge thank you as well to our amazing mentors, Anjali and John, whose guidance was invaluable—this project wouldn’t be at the level it is without their insights and support.
And of course, a heartfelt thank you to Product Space, an organization that has given me so many opportunities. I’m beyond grateful for everyone here and all that I’ve learned from this amazing community!
